$125.00 provides a family in the bateyes with clean drinking water. Clean water is key to good health. In 2016 we gave money to install 15 water filters and then in 2017 we personally helped install 20 water filters and gave money to install even more after we left.
Since 2016 we have been able to hand out manna rice packs to the people of the bateyes that we visited and had clinics in. This is a program through Feed My Starving Children. Manna packs are small pouches of easy-to-prepare food that was designed improve the lives of severely malnourished children. Each pouch has approximately 6 servings. (If you want more information visit https://www.fmsc.org/impact-of-our-work/what-makes-us-different/food-is-the-foundation) Good Samaritan Hospital receives donations of the Manna Rice packs but has to fundraise to cover the shipping costs. We would love to help get these packs to La Romana so we can have them to hand out when we get there.
